What's Happening Now!
The Kluchit Team was there on the second day of the Graduate Display of Fashion Students for the year 2016. Over the years, the display has evolved tremendously. Apart from the dedicated mentorship of the fashion department and its faculty, the students spent a lot of time and energy to display their creativity in a competitive way as well. Although each and every display was worth mentioning but Kluchit had to decide the top 5 for this year.
Shahroz Tariq displayed “Perfect Bubble”. A very talented designer and a true people’s person, Shahroz has always kept himself out of the regular world. Within himself, he had a desire for everything to be perfect. Shahroz’s younger brother suffered an ailment which, as per him, took away perfection from him. For this he created his own Perfect Bubble around his life.

With tones of blue and grey, the Perfect Bubble collection was created. The fabric range included Organza, Twill, Linen and Cotton with the design patterns drawn from X-rays and medical reports of Shahroz’s younger brother. The design elements were digitally printed and embroidered.
Hi, my name is Nida Jatoi. As a designer I am an advocate of minimalism. I personally love garments which have simplified details but they still make a statement. In the next 5 years I see myself running my own design house, and hopefully I will be bringing something new and interesting into the market.

The topic for my thesis is absence, and it’s based on my father. He passed away when I was 11 years old, and it was a great loss for me. I felt that a part of me had gone missing. In my collection I have tried to portray the incompleteness, the emptiness; basically the absence that I felt. The inspiration for the silhouettes is taken from my father’s personality and his dressing as a barrister but whatever has been made for this collection is somehow incomplete.
Hello, my name is Anna Leghari and as the name suggests I am from a Baloch tribal family. I wanted to be a fashion designer firstly, because it’s the perfect way to express myself and secondly; to end the stereotypical notion that Baloch people are conservative and backward. In the future I see myself not having to introduce my name and becoming a leading brand.

My collection is about my village home which is Mughal inspired in terms of architecture and interior. I have linked it to my childhood memories which give me my color palette. The silhouettes are inspired by the architecture and the construction of the haveli.
My name is Natasha Hassan. I had never planned to be a fashion designer, however I have always had an eye for fine and classical art and music. Today I have successfully managed to learn about the art in clothing and in my opinion what a designer makes is a splitting image of themselves.

This is why through my thesis I wanted to show the elegance and the class in Kathakali. The garments have been made using cut lines from hand gestures used by KathaKali dancers and the textiles are inspired from the headgear and skirts of KathaKali costumes.
Hi, I am Hira Ijaz. I have graduated from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore. I have chosen this field as there is a lot of scope and opportunities in this profession. This field is growing day by day and I see myself as an innovative, minimal and contemporary designer in the future.

The purpose of my thesis is to revive local games such as ”kho-kho”, ”chuppan chuppai”, ”shatapu” and ”ludo”. The project aims at exploring sportswear elements by incorporating them in hoods. The pockets act as windows and the garments can be worn inside out with hints of surprise portraying the theme. Finished with metallic numbers, perforation and metallic zippers, silhouettes are kept oversized with each garment leading a track to the finish line.
